Kristin began swimming at the age of six in Texas on a local cabana team. Her family moved to San Jose California where she joined her high school swim team and swam for 3 years, lettering in 500 Freestyle. She married in 2000 and started a family in 2002.
The King family joined the Makos in February 2009 when her daughter Kendal joined the Entry Group. Later that same year, Kristin became a Stroke and Turn Official, then in early 2010 became the Entry Group Coach.
Kristin now manages and updates the team website and team newsletter, as well as provides team Try Outs as needed for new swimmers who wish to join the Makos. Her daughter Kendal and her son Clayton both swim on the Mako team. In her spare time, Kristin likes to make jewelry, dabble in photography, and hang out at the beach with her family.
