Head Coach Tom Lebherz

Senior Group Coach

Tom Lebherz has been successfully coaching swimmers of all ages in the bay area for more than three decades, primarily in San Jose. Tom coached for the South Valley Swim Team, and for the Santa Teresa High School swim team. He’s coached along with Debbie Fujji for the past ten years for both club teams and also at Santa Teresa High School.

Coach Tom is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) as a Level Five Coach, and is the Distance Coach for Pacific Swimming. This role involves bringing select swimmers to Colorado Springs to swim in the Olympic Training Center.  Tom has had swimmers who have attended Nationals, Junior Nationals, Sectionals, as well as the old Sports Festivals.  Some of his swimmers have made it all the way to the top 24 in the Olympic Trials, as well as several swimmers in the USA top 100.

Some additional career highlights:

- Voted as California’s  High School Coach of the Year in 1987

- One of the key speakers at the ASCA Clinic in 1990

- Central Coast Section (CCS)Honor Coach 1990-91

- Involved with numerous Pacific Swimming camps as Assistant Coach and as Head Coach

- And numerous Pacific Swimming All-Star teams as Assistant Coach and as Head Coach

Tom is passionate and energetic about coaching, communicates well with kids, and loves what he does.
